Daniel Jones jogs on field during Giants game against Bengals
Colt McCoy helped to game-manage the first place Giants to a shocking upset over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, but help could be on the way in the form of Daniel Jones.
Jones, who made progress last week while recovering from a strained hamstring, will get “every opportunity this week in practice” to prove he’s ready to return in Week 14 when the Giants host the Arizona Cardinals.
SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano reported on Sunday that the team was “very optimistic” that Jones would be ready to return against the Cards.
Vacchiano noted that Jones progressed much faster in his rehabilitation than the Giants expected last week, according to the source, and came closer to playing against the Seahawks than they thought he would.
However, the Giants always planned to take the cautious approach and start McCoy against Seattle.
With their unexpected win over the Seahawks, the Giants improved to 5-7 and improved their position atop the NFC East — a position that could be further cemented if the Washington Football Team loses to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday and the Dallas Cowboys lose to the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday.
After the Giants host the Cardinals, the Giants finish the season with games against the Cleveland Browns, Ravens, and Cowboys.
