NFL experts make Week 14 picks

The Week 14 contest between the Tennessee Titans (8-4) and Jacksonville Jaguars (1-11) is a matchup between two teams looking to rebound after losing last week.

The Titans had their doors blown off in the first half versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 13, leading to Baker Mayfield and Co. notching a 41-35 victory over Tennessee.

Jacksonville played yet another close game against a tough opponent last Sunday, but ultimately fell to the Minnesota Vikings in overtime, 27-24, which was the Jags’ 11th loss in a row.

With the Titans sitting atop the AFC South at the moment, every game from here on out is crucial, but this one has a little extra importance because the tiebreaker is divisional record. Tennessee is currently 3-1 in the division, while the Indianapolis Colts are 2-2.

The Titans are heavily favored over the Jaguars going into this game. With that said, are there any experts going against the grain and picking the Jags over the Titans in Week 14?

The Titans are coming off a terrible loss to the Browns. The defense is a mess. That loss will get them back focused in this rivalry game. The Titans will pound Derrick Henry here and win this one as the Jaguars hang around until late in the game.

Sporting News’ Week 14 picks

Vinnie Iyer – Titans 31, Jaguars 24:

The Titans’ defense has plenty of holes and when their offense is helping out by running for big chunks and passing for big plays to build a big lead, it’s set up to get exposed by a balanced, explosive attack. Derrick Henry will get back to rushing at a high level, setting up Ryan Tannehill for another big afternoon on the road. Mike Glennon has sparked the Jaguars’ offense, with good help from James Robinson, and they will hang around again to make it close.

Bill Bender – Titans 28, Jaguars 21:

The Titans played a 33-30 thriller with the Jaguars in the first meeting. Jacksonville has lost four of its last five games by four points or less. Derrick Henry clears 100 yards this time, and the Tennessee bounces back from the loss to Cleveland.

Gregg Rosenthal’s Week 14 pick

Gregg Rosenthal, NFL.com – Titans 37, Jaguars 27:

The Jaguars’ defensive improvement since their Week 8 bye, despite an avalanche of injuries, has been one of the most fruitless, inexplicable developments of the season. The Titans’ defensive struggles are equally confounding, but more consistent. Expect plenty of points, just like the 33-30 Titans victory in Week 2 that started Jacksonville’s 11-game losing streak.

Overall expert tally: Titans 34, Jaguars 0

Of the 34 experts whose picks we have here, not a single one of them is taking the Jaguars to win at home, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering the respective paths these two franchises are one. The Titans and Jaguars will kick off at noon CT on Sunday.
